Facilitator Training

Learn to lead better group experiences.

Greater Than One facilitator training helps people lead groups with more clarity, confidence, safety, and purpose. The course focuses on the practical skills facilitators use before, during, and after experiential programs. Public courses are added as dates are scheduled, and organizations can request private or partner-hosted sessions for teams, staff, or program groups.

Open Enrollment

Individuals can join scheduled facilitator training courses when public dates are available.

Team Training

Organizations can bring Greater Than One in to train their internal staff, seasonal teams, or program leaders.

Custom Focus

Training can emphasize team building, ropes course facilitation, leadership programs, corporate groups, youth programs, or debriefing skills.

What Students Learn

Facilitation skills that survive contact with real groups.

The course is built around practice, feedback, and decision-making. Participants learn how to guide experience without over-controlling it, and how to help people make meaning from what happens in the room, on the course, or in the field.

  • Design purposeful openings, transitions, activities, reflection, and closing moments
  • Read group energy and adjust facilitation choices without losing the program goal
  • Ask stronger debrief questions that help participants connect experience to behavior
  • Manage participation, resistance, dominant voices, quiet voices, and group tension
  • Sequence experiential activities so challenge, support, and learning stay connected
  • Hold physical, emotional, and social safety during active group learning
  • Give clear instructions, frame activities well, and recover when plans need to change
  • Use observation, feedback, and practice to keep improving as a facilitator
